Alanya Tourism 2026: Your Endless Holiday Escape

Alanya is one of Turkey’s most loved holiday destinations. In fact, 2026 is set to be its best year ever. New flights, a major highway and a full events calendar make this the perfect time to visit. Whether you love beaches, history or great food, Alanya truly has it all.

How popular is Alanya? The key numbers

First of all, the figures are impressive. The Antalya region welcomed a record 17.1 million tourists in 2025. As a result, it broke its own record for the second year in a row. Alanya itself draws around 3 million visitors per year. Furthermore, the city earns over $1 billion in annual tourism revenue. Year-on-year growth stands at 8%. Russia, Germany and the UK are the top three visitor markets.

Where to stay: hotels and accommodation

Alanya has more than 800 places to stay. In total, the district offers over 150,000 tourist beds. Because of this, there is something for every budget. All-inclusive resorts are the most popular choice. However, you can also find apartments, guesthouses and private villas. Prices start at around $40 per night for a 3-star hotel. In contrast, a 5-star beachfront resort costs from around $120 per night.

Which area should you choose?

For first-time visitors, the Cleopatra Beach area is ideal. It is central, lively and close to all the main sights. On the other hand, Kemal Bay is quieter and suits those who prefer a relaxed stay. Families often choose the Konakli or Incekum areas for their large resort hotels.

Getting here: new highway and flights in 2026

Getting to Alanya is now easier than ever. A new €2.43 billion highway will soon cut the drive from Antalya Airport to just 36 minutes. Currently, that same journey takes around 2.5 hours. In addition, new direct flights from Germany and Kazakhstan serve Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport. As a result, more travellers can reach Alanya without a long transfer.

History: Syedra ancient city, and the Alanya Museum

Alanya is also rich in ancient history. For example, the ruined city of Syedra sits just 22 km from the centre. It dates back to the 7th century BC and was lived in until the 13th century AD. Best of all, entry is completely free. You can walk a 250-metre collonaded street, see Roman baths and visit a Byzantine church.

The bronze Heracles at Alanya Archaeological Museum

The Alanya Museum is well worth a visit too. Its star piece is a 52 cm bronze statue of Heracles. It dates to the 2nd century AD and was found near Syedra. Because very few ancient bronze statues survived, this one is extremely rare. The museum also holds a Phoenician stone inscription from 625 BC. It opens daily from 08:00 to 19:00 in summer.

Tropical fruits: Alanya’s tastiest secret

Most visitors are surprised to learn that Alanya is Turkey’s tropical fruit capital. In fact, 70% of all avocados eaten in Turkey come from this region. Farmers here grow 38 exotic species. These include mango, banana, dragon fruit, passion fruit and papaya. Moreover, around 11,000 local farmers now work in tropical fruit production. Try the GI-protected Alanya Fuerte avocado — available from August through March.

In summary, Alanya tourism in 2026 offers sun, history, culture and amazing flavours. Therefore, whether you are a first-time visitor or coming back again, there is always something new to find. Alanya is, without doubt, one of the Mediterranean’s most complete destinations.
